Designed by Hamburg-born architect Jan Störmer, the architectural design resembles three interlocking circles, which are covered with white porcelain tiles reflecting the glittering water of the lake.

The Fontenay is located in the heart of the charming Hamburg, on the shores of Lake Alster, about 15 minutes’ walk or 5 minutes’ drive to the city centre.

Hamburg International Airport is about 20minutes drive to the hotel.

The central train station is 2 km away while Dammtor train station is just a kilometre away.

Rooms & Suites

There are 113 rooms and 17 suites spread across five floors and they are opulently appointed and offering guests stunning views of Hamburg and the lake.

The rooms are fully fitted with 55'' and 65" OLED flat screen TV with HDMI, USB ports in desk and next to the bed, night light, satellite TV with premium movie and sports channels, touchscreen room control, safe and IP telephone.

The bathrooms have heated floors, guest WC, bathtub, and rain shower, and heated towel rail, body care products created by Lorenzo Villoresi, Florence, fog-free shaving mirror, and hairdryer.

The largest suite, the Fontenay Suite is on the 5th floor with unforgettable and spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding.

The suite has two separate bedrooms with a studio/office, extra-long beds, a dining room that can seat ten people, and a fully stocked kitchen.

The natural stone bathrooms are fitted with two washbasins, rain shower and a bathtub and a separate WC.

The suite also has a touchpad that allows the user to create different lighting scene, control the air-conditioning or control the curtains without a noise.

Other suites feature a wide range of modern and unique amenities that will make your holiday in Hamburg relaxing and enjoyable.

The Fontenay has an urban roofscape equipped with sun terrace and indoor/outdoor pool.

The infinity pool area is magical with its waterline appearing to meet with the Alster Lake.

The Fontenay Spa features a wide range of wellness facilities such as Finnish sauna (90°), a Prestige Vichy Bed, ice fountain and an aroma-quartzite steam room.

There is private Spa Suite for relaxation, equipped with its own TV lounge, double day bed, whirlpool, steam room and sauna.

The Fontenay has acquired La Mer as a cosmetics partner – a first on the German-speaking market.

The fitness area has the latest cardiovascular and weight training equipment inside, and there is a 7.5 km jogging route around the Alster Lake.
