Location:
Nestled on the idyllic Zugerberg, the school enjoys a unique location on the doorstep of the vibrant city of Zug. The campus extends over the picturesque and natural setting of the Zugerberg mountain at 1000m above sea level.
Overview:
Today, the school is home to over 380 students representing around 55 different nationalities. Their development is guided by Montana’s core values of Internationalism, Individualism, Integration, and Innovation. With small class sizes, committed teachers, and a rich selection of co-curricular opportunities, students benefit from a supportive environment that nurtures academic excellence, personal growth, and empathy. This is what defines the Montana Learning Experience.
Academics:
Students can choose from 4 programmes in grades 1-12:
Extra Curricular Activities:
Co-curricular activities are an integral part of school life rather than just an addition or source of entertainment. With over 50 engaging options—including Model United Nations, Theatre, Choir, 3D Printing, Engineering, and many more—students are encouraged to explore their interests and talents beyond the classroom. These experiences help them build confidence, develop valuable life skills, and cultivate a balanced, forward-thinking approach to personal growth and future success.
Other:
Institut Montana welcomes international boarding students starting from the age of 10. They reside in comfortable single or double rooms within one of the school’s three boarding houses, grouped according to age and gender. Each house is supervised and cared for by experienced and dedicated houseparents who provide 24-hour guidance and support. The well-being of every student is at the heart of campus life—extending far beyond academics to every aspect of daily living. A professional care team is available around the clock to help students adjust smoothly to boarding life and to safeguard their health, happiness, and personal growth.
For a century, Institut Montana has supported children in discovering who they are and what they can become. This summer camp continues that tradition. In two weeks in July, children aged 9-15 discover their strengths, grow through coaching, and finish with a personal showcase of their talents.
