Basilica of Santa Croce

To top it all off, some of the most famous renaissance italians are buried here, such as Machiavelli, Galileo, Michelangelo, and many more, similar to Westminster Abbey in London.

Museo dell’Opera del Dumo

Smaller than the Ufizi or the Academia gallery and not as well known, this gallery values quality over quantity. Important pieces of art such as the original Ghiberti doors to Florence’s baptistery and a Michelangelo pieta created for his own tomb reside here. Definitely worth a visit.
