For more than a century, the clinic has been providing care for patients in search of medical expertise in a quiet and peaceful environment. Today, the clinic specialises in neurological, orthopaedic and respiratory rehabilitation.

Clinique Valmont was acquired by the Swiss Medical Network in 2005 and and fully renovated whilst still retaining its former charm.

The clinic’s multidisciplinary team is composed of:

  • Doctors specialising in rehabilitation
  • Physiotherapists

  • Specialised nurses

Areas of specialisation

Clinique Valmont provides excellent healthcare that ensures the highest possible standards of quality care for every patient. The team of health professionals sees the patients as individuals with unique needs, and this guarantees consistently high levels of success. Every patient has an individual journey, beginning with pre-evaluation and followed by treatment and aftercare, with the entire process complemented by holistic support.

Depending on the individual case, patients are admitted as inpatients or seen as outpatients. Following an assessment, various exercises are used to help patients regain cognitive abilities, speech, mobility, sensibility, dexterity and strength.

Neurological rehabilitation

Neurological rehabilitation programs are designed to restore the main motor and cognitive faculties for everyday living and to reduce the impact of disabilities. Structured programs are developed for each type of condition and are adapted to the individual.

Diseases that patients present with for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation are:

  • Strokes
  • Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders
  • Multiple sclerosis and inflammatory diseases
  • Epilepsy
  • Sleep disorders
  • Alzheimer’s disease, and other cognitive and memory disorders
  • Degenerative diseases of the brain and cerebellum
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Disorders of the spinal cord
  • Chronic pain
  • Peripheral nerve disorders
  • Myopathies
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Rehabilitation linked to vestibular disorders

Orthopaedic rehabilitation

Orthopaedic rehabilitation involves patients suffering from degenerative or inflammatory diseases of the bones, joints and spinal column. It is also used following fractures with or without the insertion of prosthetic implants.

The main pathologies treated are:

  • Prosthetic surgery (hip, knee, shoulder replacement)
  • Trauma surgery (broken hip, pelvis, ankle)
  • Multiple trauma patients
  • Post-operative recovery from slipped disc
  • Post-operative recovery from spinal fusion
  • Post-operative recovery from spinal canal stenosis
  • Chronic problems such as lumbago
  • Inflammatory rheumatism such as rheumatoid polyarthritis or fibromyalgia

The clinic’s physical therapists are experts who provide personalized treatments to help patients improve their strength, coordination, mobility, balance and flexibility. Valmont combines the best techniques and treatments with evidence-based practice to help patients recover from surgery or sports injuries.

Rehabilitation specialists work closely with orthopaedic surgeons and rheumatologists to provide expert care and support to enable patients to rebuild their strength and return to doing the things they love.

Respiratory rehabilitation

Respiratory rehabilitation is an important step for patients who have been affected by the coronavirus.

While the majority of patients have no after-effects from COVID-19, some of them suffering from pre-existing conditions or age-related vulnerability need a targeted therapeutic program.

Actually, a pulmonary deconditioning can appear, or even persist, after a hospitalisation in an intensive care unit, with or without respiratory assistance (oxygen therapy), linked to the treatment of COVID-19.
